Full-time PURCHASING AGENT
Job description
BEFCO is currently hiring for a full-time position as Purchasing Agent.
The Purchasing Agent is in charge of supervising the process of sourcing and purchasing essential materials for regular day to day business operations. Their duties include researching raw materials suppliers and comparing costs, negotiating purchase agreements, developing inventory controls to identify demand for new materials, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities. They are responsible for evaluating suppliers and negotiating contracts to achieve the lowest price for high-quality goods.
This position is also responsible for maintaining physical condition of the inventory while its in the warehouse, regularly checking inventory numbers to make sure they are accurate, making sure that the first inventory to arrive is also the first to be used.
Finally, the Purchasing Agent will also maintain regular communication with suppliers to keep them accountable in case of delivery delays, incorrect items delivered or items not delivered as promised.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as procurement specialist
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Experience in preparing and keeping up with purchase orders
- Excellent knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software (especially Excel)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Degree in business administration or a related field is a definite plus
- Attention to detail
